Vote for a Green Future

Monday 30th May 2022

18:00 – 21:00

Join us at Jersey Zoo for the opportunity to meet Jersey’s deputy candidates standing for election and assess their knowledge and potential ability to deliver on policies and push environmental agendas through. This is your chance to ask the candidates environmental and sustainability-related questions, so they can put forward their position on the environment and help you make informed decisions and vote for an Assembly that is committed to shaping a sustainable Island.

In light of the climate emergency, we believe that all candidates should have an understanding and stance on Jersey's environment, its impact and global responsibility. We want to use this opportunity for candidates to demonstrate an understanding of the broad range of environmental issues they will need to tackle during their term in government, including their environmental agendas in tackling the climate emergency and biodiversity loss.

Hosting this event is important to our mission of saving species from extinction, as Jersey's next States Assembly will continue to shape both the island's natural and built environment and how Islanders and businesses carry out their day-to-day functions. All future political decisions will impact our ability to carry out our conservation work, be it on-island or internationally, and therefore we need an Assembly committed to creating a more sustainable future.

Please note, Durrell does not support or oppose any particular political party or candidate. Therefore, this event is open to deputy candidates regardless of their political party ties. However, spaces are limited, so candidates and members of the public are encouraged to register soon to avoid missing out.
