James Persad was appointed to the Trustee board of Durrell UK in February 2014 to help advise on the development and expansion of the brand into the UK and internationally. He also manages the brand development, marketing and advertising for the Carbon Trust Group, a UK based organisation who are expanding internationally, with a mission to accelerate the move to a sustainable, low carbon economy through engaging businesses, governments and the public sector.
After his degree at the London School of Economics, James travelled for a year, wrote an as yet unpublished novel, and then commenced a mind-broadening career in advertising, digital and direct marketing agencies. 11 years, some award-winning campaigns, and a young family later, James wanted to bend his expertise to a more meaningful purpose, and so joined the Carbon Trust in 2009.
James has a life-long compassion for wildlife and its preservation, in part fuelled by the work of Gerald Durrell and other great contributors to wildlife fascination, education and conservation.
